Rockers usually get a justified bad rep for their not-so-great impact on the people around them – but every now and then, one of them stands up and acts like a real star.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jon Bon Jovi was in the right place at the right time on Tuesday (10) when he helped convince a woman not to jump off a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee.

Fox News reported:

“The ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ singer happened to be filming a music video on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when he saw a woman in a ‘moment of crisis,’ Fox News Digital has learned.

‘A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night’, Metro Nashville Police Department officials shared on X. ‘Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety’.”

Police Chief John Drake also wrote in the statement: ‘It takes all of us to help keep each other safe.’

“Bon Jovi is no stranger to helping others. He created the JBJ Soul Foundation in 2006, with the goal to ‘recognize and maximize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty, and homelessness by offering assistance in establishing programs that provide food and affordable housing while supporting social services and job training programs’.”

The small operation in Philadelphia has expanded into 12 states, serving thousands of people, including youth and veterans.

After they help the woman back over the railing, Bon Jovi and the assistant hug her.

The Tennessean reported:

“Bon Jovi was filming a music video for his song ‘The People’s House’ on the bridge, which remained open to the public during the shoot. In a video posted by MNPD, a woman wearing a blue shirt is seen over the ledge of the bridge with her arms wrapped around its railing.”

The police video shows how Bon Jovi and a production assistant walk along the bridge over the Cumberland River and talk to the woman on the ledge.

The production assistant begins addressing the woman before Bon Jovi joins in. The musician is seen leaning against the rail.

“The woman then turns toward Bon Jovi and the production assistant, and they help her over the railing.

Once safe, the woman and Bon Jovi face each other, and the Grammy-winning singer hugs her before the group walks away.”
