Kid Rock sent a strong message to followers that if you “f***” with former President Donald Trump then “you f*** with me” after the apparent assassination attempt on Trump on Saturday.
In a post on Instagram, the 53-year-old singer shared a video of him making it clear that taking a shot at the former president is not okay after Trump was shot during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, while he was speaking to supporters ahead of the 2024 election.
“You f*** with Trump, you f*** with me,” the rocker — born Robert James Ritchie — said in a video online as he pointed at the camera, and made it clear he was angry after someone had shot at Trump.
The rocker wasn’t the only person from the music world who reacted to the attempted assassination of Trump. Country star John Rich took to Xand wrote, “Trump was shot!!!”
“They couldn’t beat him in a fair contest, so they tried to kill him,” he added. “BUT THEY MISSED.”
“I know the vibes. We are all in trouble now!” Rapper 50 Cent wrote, along with a clip of his track “Many Men (Wish Death)” from Get Rich or Die Tryin,’ Billboard noted.
He added in a second post that read, “Trump gets shot and now I’m trending.” His post included a photoshopped image of Trump’s face on top of his from the album cover Get Rich or Die Tryin.’
Following the shooting, Trump released a statement that read, “I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.”
“Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured,” he added. “It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country.”
“Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead,” Trump continued. “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”
