The View host Sunny Hostin slams 69 million 'un-American' voters for 'looking the other way' and backing 'racist, homophobic and misogynistic' Donald Trump
The View host Sunny Hostin on Thursday slammed the 69 million 'un-American' voters who backed 'racist, homophobic and misogynistic' Donald Trump.
Hostin was talking to Whoopi Goldberg when she called their actions 'despicable'.
Election officials in key battlegrounds pressed forward Thursday with presidential vote counting as Democrat Joe Biden urged patience and President Donald Trump insisted the processing of ballots should be stopped.
Hostin said '50 per cent of America looked the other way' when voting for the president.
She said: 'For the past four years, this president has shown us that he is a misogynist, that he is homophobic, that he is racist and that he mismanaged a coronavirus pandemic to the tune of 250,000 American deaths.
'Yet 50 per cent of America saw all of that and looked the other way to their brothers and their sisters and said, 'I'm going to vote for him anyway.''

The nation is still yet to learn which man would collect the 270 electoral votes needed to capture the presidency.
Biden’s victories in Michigan and Wisconsin put him in a commanding position, but Trump showed no sign of giving up. It could take several more days for the vote count to conclude and a clear winner emerge.
With millions of ballots yet to be tabulated, Biden already had received more than 72 million votes, the most in history.
Hostin said voting for Trump was 'really disheartening' and selfish'.

She added: 'I'm not going to say that 50 per cent of Americans are racist and sexist and homophobic but I will say that that tells me that they will look the other way to that kind of behavior, to the plight of their fellow Americans, if personally they feel that they are doing OK and that they will do better under that type of presidency.
'And that, I think, is despicable. It is un-American.'
Sara Haines, who was also on the show's panel said Trump voters are 'just as American as we are'.
She added: ' Voting is a selfish thing. We vote for what affects our day-to-day lives.'
But Hostin replied: 'The problem, Sara, though, is that our very democracy is founded on the notion of a collective spirit. We the people, for the people, by the people. And unless you have that collective social contract, our democracy fails.'
