Trump says Democrat cities like Baltimore and Oakland are so lawless it's like 'living in hell' and claims Chicago is 'worse than Afghanistan' during town hall - then warns Biden 'will destroy our country' (20 Pics)

President Donald Trump compared some U.S. cities to Afghanistan as he blasted protesters attempting to pull down statues as 'troublemakers' and 'anarchists'.
Speaking in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity on Thursday night, the president claimed that living in cites like Chicago, Detroit, Oakland and Baltimore was 'like living in hell' as he called for stop and frisk tactics to be used to cut down crime.
'It’s not a racist statement,' Trump said. 'Black people come up to me and say "thank you". They want help.'
Trump placed the blame with 'Democrat-run' cities where protests against racial injustice are ongoing, saying they 'don't love our country' and are 'taking over'.
'Democrats think it’s wonderful, they’re destroying out country,' he said of the unrest.

Trump took part in the town hall with Fox News in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was visiting Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Marinette shipyard, to announce a new contract with the military that he says could create up to 6,000 jobs in the area.
The president spoke at length about his response to the coronavirus and Black Lives Matter protests as well as discussing John Bolton, Roger Stone and his own run ins with the press.
He said that 'Chicago is an example, it is worse than Afghanistan' as Hannity pushed the president to speak about the recent calls for law and order and the uptick in violence in Chicago, which on Memorial Day weekend left 10 dead and 39 wounded.
Trump added that Chicago, as well as cities such as Detroit, Oakland and Baltimore are 'worse' than Honduras and Guatemala, who he then praised for working with the U.S. on protecting the border.
Chicago, in particular, has been a target for the president recently after it had its most deadly day in 60 years on May 31, with 18 murders in one day.
It also had the most deadly Memorial Day weekend in years and 191 deaths have been reported in the city so far this year as the result of violence, according to Fox News.
Stop and frisk is needed in those cities, the president claimed, citing the work of his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani while he was New York City Mayor.
'It’s very controversial to stay, stop and frisk,' Trump said. 'You take guns away... Rudy Giuliani was a great mayor. He did it in New York.'
Despite Trump's push for greater action, Chicago has seen a declining murder rate in recent years without stop and frisk.
There were 490 murders in 2019 – a 13 percent drop from the 564 in 2018 and a 35 percent drop since the 756 in 2016.
Detroit, also mentioned by the president, has seen a 30 percent increase in homicides as of June 18 with 129 killings, however, and Baltimore has also seen its murder rate rise this year.
Continuing on the topic of the recent civil unrest sparked by the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25, Trump threatened to intervene in Seattle if authorities did not work to dismantle the autonomous protest zone that has been established there.
'If they don't do something with Seattle, we're going to do that - we're going to go in there,' Trump told host Hannity.
'Because what's happening, they're taking over American cities. In all cases, its Democrats. They’re Democrat-run, in all cases.'
During Hannity's show, the president was heard twice stating that demonstrators who try to topple statues or to tear them down should be hit with a jail sentence of up to ten years, claiming that more than 100 people have been arrested so far.
'If they want to knock down a statue, they get ten years,' he stated, citing the Monuments Act.
His threats came after police clashed with protesters in Washington D.C. Monday night as a demonstration attempted to tear down a statue of President Andrew Jackson close to the White House.
Another group of protesters had vowed to bring down a statue of Abraham Lincoln known as the Emancipation Memorial on Thursday night.
'Andrew Jackson was a very good President, a very good general,' Trump said of the attempts to topple the statue Monday.

'And Lincoln and that’s the emancipation proclamation. I think they have someone who wasn’t freed getting up and being freed by Lincoln.  I can see controversy but there's also beauty there ... it was paid for by slaves.'
Trump said that he was open to taking things down 'but they ought to go through a process legally'.
'These are rioters and a lot of bad people involve. They’d like to get [to statues of] Jesus,' he added.
'These have nothing to do with any event but they are troublemakers and anarchists and they want to upset our country.'
JOE BIDEN & DEMOCRATS
'Joe Biden would have that be the whole country,' Trump added of Seattle's autonomous zone and the toppling of status in other cities around the country.
'It’s so crazy what is happening. Here’s a guy that doesn’t talk. Nobody hears him. When he talks, he can’t put two sentences together. I don’t want to be nice or un-nice, OK? But I mean, the man can’t speak,' Trump said.
When asked by an audience member about what measures Trump would take to cut out any further unrest, he used it again to hit out at Biden, stating that if elected the former Vice President would be taken over by the 'radical left'.
'He’s shot,' Trump said. 'The radical left is going to take him over.'
He cited the New York primary results as an example, where he warned that the potential defeat of longtime Rep. Eliot Engel is a sign of the growing strength of the 'radical fringe' in the Democratic Party.
He urged Republicans that they had to get tough to beat the 'real lefties' that are emerging, claiming there were no Democratic candidates left at center left and that 'it’s a disgrace what’s happened to our country'.
'They are terrorists in a sense,' Trump said, adding that Republicans had to understand they are 'fighting something that’s very dangerous'.
'He’s a candidate that will destroy this county,' the president said when later asked about how many times he is willing to debate Biden before November, reiterating his allegations that the former Vice President will be controlled by a 'fringed group of lunatics'.
In a tour of a Wisconsin factory also filmed with Hannity on Thursday, Trump was asked about an inaccurate statement made by Biden earlier in the day in which he claimed more than 120million have died from coronavirus in the United States.
'That’s a third of our population,' Trump said of the error.
'This is serious business. We can’t have something like that, that’s a serious error.

'That's not a slip up, it’s a serious error. That’s not a permissible type of error because there's something going on.
'We’re talking about the presidency of the United States.'
Later in his Hannity interview, he took a swipe at the whole Democratic party, claiming that they are the hardest people he has ever had to work with and are are 'tougher' to work with than China, Russia and even North Korea.
'You don't know what I have to go through with these people,' he said of the rival party, before recalling how a friend once asked him what was the most difficult nation in the world to work with.
'Is it China? Is it possibly Russia? Or is it North Korea? I said "no, the toughest nation to deal with are the Democrats in the USA",' he said
'They're far more unreasonable and actually a little crazy.'
He also claimed that the Democratic Party have done nothing to promote 'law and order' in the country and that Biden 'did virtually nothing' while he was Vice President.
'I call him corrupt,' he continued.
MUELLER REPORT & IMPEACHMENT
Later, Trump ripped into Democrats on the Hill claiming that they all took part in a 'scam' to get him and that he was the 'most innocent man in the history of the United States'.
'We have [Charles] Schumer and [Nancy] Pelosi and people that are bad people that I honestly believe don’t love our country. What they do to our country and what they’ve done with this scam, the whole scam -- [Michae] Flynn is a piece of it. The Mueller scam,' he said.
'Now it came out that Mueller should have announced in the first week that we did nothing wrong. They had evidence in the first few days that there was no collusion with Russia. There was nothing to do with Russia. They knew that immediately.
'What they’ve put this country through,' he added.
'Jeff Session was disaster, he let it happen. Unknowingly, because he’s not very smart.'
'All these guys were after me … spent million of dollars over two years and got nothing on me. A friend said to me you have to be the most perfect person.
'They were wrong on Ukraine,' Trump said, before praising the Republican party for supporting him. 'It was a pure hoax. They impeached a duly elected president over a perfect conversation.
'In fairness, the Republican party was great.
'They were steadfast because they know it was a hoax. It was a party line. Nothing like this ever happened before.'
Hannity questioned the president about Flynn and Roger Stone again later in the town hall when Trump called Flynn a 'smart guy' and said that Stone's life had been 'destroyed'.
He compared Stone to the protesters tearing down statues asking: 'These guys are tearing down statues, hurting police and nothing happens to them and they want him to do nine years in jail?'
CORONAVIRUS
The president also defended his response to the coronavirus pandemic, stating that his border wall with Mexico is working to stop further spread and doubling down once again on branding it the ‘China plague’.
‘The Democrats want to open borders, even if you just look at the virus that we’re talking about, look at San Diego where we built that wall - it would be infecting lives like nobody’s ever seen before.’
Now he claimed the U.S. is 'doing a number on China' but they were 'going to take over our country under Obama and Biden.
Trump said that the United States has one of the best coronavirus mortality rates in the world, despite it being the country with the highest death toll, and said that it was down to a high level of testing.
At one point, Trump referred to the coronavirus pandemic and the economic downturn that came as a result of lockdowns as an 'artificial problem' .
'We had to turn off the country to save millions of lives and now we’re switched back on and coming back strongly,' he said.

JOHN BOLTON
During the prerecorded interview, Trump also hits out at his former National Security Advisor John Bolton ahead of his publication of his tell-all memoir 'The Room Where It Happened'.
'He didn't do a good job,' Trump said of Bolton.
'He wasn't smart. He wasn't sharp.
'He's the only man I think I ever met - I knew him for a year - I don't think I ever saw him smile once. I said to him, "John, do you ever smile?" And it tells you something about somebody,' the president added.
The president claimed, however, that he would always get what he wanted if he brought Bolton to a meeting as people believed he was 'crazy' and loved bombing.
'People think he's crazy because all he wants to do is bomb people, he'll fight everybody. "Let's fight Russia, let's fight China, let's take them on." He's crazy.
'When I walked into a room with him, I knew that when they saw Bolton they always gave me what I wanted because they said "Trump's gonna drop bombs on me because he has this maniac with him." So in a way he helped me in terms of a negotation.'
He said that he stopped listening to Bolton very early into his short tenure in the White House administration as he said the former National Security Advisor claimed it was still a good idea for the U.S. to have invaded Iraq.
The president's criticism comes after just last week, a court declined to stop the release of a book by Bolton.
He has railed against Bolton since excerpts leaked from his memoir, 'The Room Where It Happened,' that painted Trump as incapable of handling foreign relations and only concerned with his re-election.
Trump has demanded the money his former national security adviser makes from his memoir be seized and calling on him to be jailed for publishing classified information.
The White House tried to block Bolton's book from being released, claiming it contained classified information, but a judge on Saturday rejected the Justice Department's emergency request to block its publication, citing publisher Simon & Schuster's argument that more than 200,000 copies of the memoir had already shipped for sale.
The judge did say that Bolton 'likely jeopardized national security' and exposed himself to criminal prosecution for events he revealed in his book.
Bolton, a longtime diplomat, denies his book contains classified information and noted it was cleared by a career staffer in the White House ahead of publication.
MAIL-IN VOTING
Trump reiterated claims that mail-in voting could lead to voter fraud if it is allowed on-mass for the November election.
The president claimed that an absentee ballot, which he casts himself, is different but that mail-in voting left the election open to interference from China, in particular.
'In California, they are sending out millions and millions of ballots but is the postman going to hand them out?' he asked'
'Foreign countries, especially China, are they going to print millions of ballots and hand them in.
'We went through WW1 and we voted, we went through WWII and we voted and now we have a virus and by that time [November] it would be less and less [coronavirus spread].'
Trump's previous claims that mail-in voting could result in widespread fraud have proven to be unfounded, resulting in Twitter placing a disclaimer on one of his tweets about the issue and directing users to a fact check on claim.
The fact check angered Trump who has continued to repeat the claim online.
Trump had visited the key battleground of Wisconsin on Thursday to showcase his record as a job creator despite enormous economic headwinds and sky-high unemployment numbers.
Trump boasted of his 'aptitude for manufacturing' and again offered a rosy prediction that the coronavirus-battered economy is set to turn a corner even as the U.S. marked its 14th straight week with more than a million workers making unemployment claims.
Trump made the comments during a tour of the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard, the recent winner of a $5 billion federal contract to building up to 10 new guided missile frigates.
The Marine shipyard is a United States subsidiary of Italian enterprise Fincantieri, one of the world´s largest shipbuilders.

Wisconsin, a state he narrowly won in 2016, is expected to be one of the most hotly contested battlegrounds as Trump looks toward his reelection effort.
'I understand manufacturing,' Trump said during an address to the shipyard employees. 'Remember, manufacturing was never going to come back. Well, it did come back. It came back big.'
Trump's standing in Wisconsin appears to be suffering from the extraordinary period of turmoil, and his visit was part of a concerted effort to shore up support in friendlier areas that can make or break his reelection chances.
The trip came days after he dispatched Vice President Mike Pence to the conservative Milwaukee suburbs.
The two parts of Wisconsin that Trump targeted this week - suburban Milwaukee and the Green Bay media market in northeast Wisconsin - are areas where he needs to run up a big vote advantage in November.
Trump noted that he has pushed for a 355-ship Navy fleet by the end of his first term, though left unsaid is that the Navy is on track to have have just over 300 ships by 2025.
Still, Trump knocked Democrats as doing too little for the military.
'I will tell you that Democrats don´t like approving money for the military for whatever reason,' Trump said.
When answering a question about his greatest achievement as president during the Fox town hall, Trump said that it was either 'rebuilding of our military and the taking care of our vets'.
'All my life, I’ve seen these horror stories but you don't see that anymore,' he stated. 'We have a 91 percent approval with the VA.'
Some polls have suggested Trump has ground to make up in Wisconsin.
A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday showed Democrat Joe Biden with an 8 percentage point lead over Trump.
Trump trailed Democrat Hillary Clinton in nearly every poll conducted in Wisconsin in 2016 - often by similar margins - before he won the state by fewer than 23,000 votes.
