Trump says he is considering designating Antifa a terrorist organization and dubs the group 'gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs'

President Donald Trump has said he is considering designating Antifa a terrorist organization.

'Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others),' Trump wrote in a tweet on Saturday. 

'Would make it easier for police to do their job!' the president continued.

Antifa is not a formal organization, but rather a loose collection of people best known for wearing masks and assaulting people they deem to be 'fascists' in street battles.

Members of the far-left group have clashed with actual Neo-Nazis, as well as with conservative groups that denounce racism.

Earlier this month, Antifa was tied to a violent armed attack on a government facility. 

'I am antifa' wrote Willem Van Spronsen in a manifesto before firebombing the Tacoma Northwest Detention Center on July 13.

Spronsen, a Dutch native, was killed when four officers opened fire after he began throwing incendiary devices outside the facility, which is used to detain migrants pending deportation proceedings.

He was also armed with an AR-15-style rifle.

Antifa members confront police officers at a street protest in DC earlier this month

Last month in Portland, conservative writer Andy Ngo, an editor at the online publication Quillette, was attacked by Antifa members at a street march.

Video from the day shoes him being punched, kicked and doused in pepper-spray and hurled milkshakes by members of the Antifa movement. 

Ngo was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage following the attack.  

The writer tweeted afterwards that he was bleeding and had been robbed of his camera equipment.

He said: 'Attacked by antifa. Bleeding. They stole my camera equipment. No police until after. waiting for ambulance . If you have evidence Of attack please help.'

Adding: 'On way to hospital. Was beat on face and head multiple times in downtown in middle of street with fists and weapons. Suspects at large.'
